Shibu Soren, the founder of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), died on Monday (4 August 2025). He was 81 years old. His son and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren informed about the death. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and posted on X (East Twitter) and wrote that Shibu Soren was a ground leader who touched the heights in public life with unwavering dedication to the public. He was particularly dedicated to the empowerment of tribal communities, poor and underprivileged. His death was sad. My condolences are with his family and fans. Shibu Soren was undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi for more than a month due to kidney problems. Hemant Soren wrote on ‘X’ that the respected direction Guruji left us all. I am ‘zero’ today. Shibu Soren had been undergoing treatment in the hospital regularly for a long time. Hemant Soren told on 24 June, “He (Shibu Soren) was admitted here recently, so we have come to see him.” He is currently being health check -up. ”Shibu Soren was the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for the last 38 years and was also the founder patron of the party.

Shibu Soren ji, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and one of the senior -most leaders of the country, was counted among the stronger leaders of Jharkhand who fought for the rights of the society, especially for the rights and empowerment of tribal society.
