YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested by Hisar Police on 16 May.
Harish Malhotra, father of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was caught on charges of espionage for Pakistan, has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and Governor Ashim Ghosh.

Questioning the action of Hisar police, Jyoti’s father said, “The police has written the statement of the daughter by signing on a blank paper. He demanded the cancellation of the FIR, citing the statement of Hisar SP and said, “Daughter will never go to Pakistan, I guarantee it.”
Hisar police arrested Jyoti Malhotra on 16 May. He has serious allegations such as espionage, endangered national security and sharing confidential information under sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Indian Code (BNS) and Section 3, 4 and 5 of the Official Privacy Act, 1923.
Today, on Monday, Jyoti’s court was a sixth appearance through video conferencing. The court, while hearing, has extended Jyoti’s judicial custody 14 more days.

Father raised 3 questions on police FIR …
- Police wrote a statement by signing on blank paper itself: Harish wrote- The Aadhaar of the police’s FIR is a statement recorded by Jyoti during interrogation, while the police have written a statement according to my daughter by signing several blank papers. Apart from this, Article 20 of the Indian Constitution protects us from self-imposition, under which the police cannot make any person a witness against it. In the FIR, the daughter is made a witness against her. Therefore this FIR is unconstitutional.
- The stream of treason should be deleted: Further, it was written that in the FIR of the police, Section 152 of the Indian Justice Code is several. Under this section, there is no allegation of treason against my daughter. Even during the 9 -day remand, no such evidence has been found against my daughter, so this section should be deleted from my daughter’s case.
- Press note of Hisar SP also cited: He said that Hisar SP, who is the captain of the entire investigating agency, has issued a press note in the media and clarified that during the investigation, no sensitive, military and strategy information of my daughter has not been accessible. In such a situation, the allegations of sections of the official Secrets Act are also not appropriate against my daughter.
Father placed 2 demands in the last of the letter
- The agency will ask to remove a video, the daughter will remove: Harish said that the videos of my daughter made by my daughter as a travel blogger are like a normal blog and there are no such objectionable things in them. Still, if the agency asks to remove a video, then I am guaranteeing my daughter from her blog, I am guaranteeing myself.
- Pakistan will not go throughout his life: He said that now my daughter will not go to Pakistan in her entire life nor will it think about it. Therefore, by canceling this FIR lodged against my daughter, take the trouble of providing me and my daughter to get quick justice, otherwise it is not everyone’s talk of recovering from my and my daughter’s life that the police has spoiled the false FIR. Now I expect justice from you.
