Police complaint on Tejashwi Yadav’s 2 voter ID card claim, demand for action – Police Complaint Lodged Over Two Voter ID Cards of Tejashwi Yadav LCLNT

A local citizen has lodged a complaint at Digha police station in Patna regarding the claim of RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Yadav. The complainant has demanded a thorough investigation into the case so that it can be clear how there can be two EPIC numbers in the name of the same person.

How did the matter get into the discussion?
The matter came into the discussion when Tejashwi Yadav recently claimed that the Election Commission had changed his EPIC number and he is not named in the draft voter list published under special revision. He also claimed an online search and claimed that his name related to his old EPIC number is no longer visible in the voter list.

What did the Election Commission say?
However, the Election Commission completely dismissed Tejashwi Yadav’s allegations and made it clear that his EPIC number was still intact in the 2020 assembly elections. The Commission also said that the additional voter ID received by Tejashwi is “officially issued” and has been asked to hand over it for investigation.

An officer of Digha police station said on the condition of anonymity that it has been sent to the District Election Office as soon as the complaint is received, because in such cases he is a competent authority. If there is a instruction to register an FIR from there, then the police will take appropriate action.

Blo suspended in Begusarai
Meanwhile, a booth level officer (BLO) has been suspended in Begusarai district as a person’s name was printed twice in the draft voter list. This case is related to Sahebpur Kamal Assembly constituency, where an FIR was also lodged on a journalist recently. The journalist had published a report highlighting irregularities in voter list revision.

It is clear from this whole development that during the special revision campaign in Bihar, there are constant controversies and questions about the voter list, which the administration and the Election Commission are fully cautious.
