Operation Akhhal continued for fourth day in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the longest military campaign of 2025

Indian security forces continued active search and destruction campaign in Akhhal Devsar area of Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Monday (August 4, 2025). This is the longest campaign of 2025, in which terrorists have been standing against India’s security forces for four days.

After receiving intelligence information about the presence of a group of five terrorists in the area, a terrorist has been killed and his body has been recovered in this campaign which started on Friday (August 1, 2025).

Army, CRPF, with Jammu and Kashmir Police Sog Team involved in operation

The campaign includes coordinated efforts of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Campaign Group (SOG). The encounter continued till the night on Saturday (August 2, 2025) and intermittent firing continued throughout the night.

Two more terrorists are feared to be killed during the firing on Saturday and Sunday, as security forces have dropped bombs from helicopters and drones at suspicious places of terrorists hiding. On the afternoon of Monday (August 4, 2025), drones were seen hovering into the forests and dropping ammunition.

News of the injured of many soldiers so far in the encounter

So far, two soldiers have been reported injured during the encounter, although according to sources, highly trained terrorists, who are believed to be Pakistani, have injured at least 6 soldiers, some of which are of special paramilitary forces.

Chinar Corps of Indian Army shared information

The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said in a post on social media platform x, “Operation Akhl, Kulgam. The night intermittent and fierce firing continued. Vigilant soldiers conducted restrained firing and laid siege and tightened while maintaining contact. The security forces have so far killed a terrorist. The operation is going on.” It is part of a broader range of anti-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Army killed terrorists infiltrating operations Shiv Shakti

At the same time, on Wednesday (July 30, 2025), in a separate campaign called Operation Shiv Shakti, the Indian Army’s White Night Core personnel killed two militants trying to infiltrate the Line of Control (LOC) in the Poonch sector. Three weapons were recovered from the slain terrorists.

The White Night Core said in a post, “Quick action and accurate shells thwarted nefarious plans.” The credit for this success was given to the effective coordination between the Army’s intelligence agency and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
