Despite the uproar of the opposition, the bills will pass in Parliament, Rijiju clearly makes the government’s stand, said- discussion in Parliament …

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Monday that the government will be forced to pass its Bills despite the opposition parties’ performance in Parliament. The possibilities of normal functioning in both the houses are being tarnished due to the continuous uproar over the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar by the opposition. The Lok Sabha could not work in the Lok Sabha on Monday, while the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were postponed in honor of his current member and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren.

It is necessary to pass a bill in national interest: Government
Rijiju said that the government wants a thorough discussion in Parliament on its Bills, but will be forced to pressurize them to pass them from Tuesday in ‘national interest’ as the proposed bills are important for the government. Targeting the opposition parties, he said that he had agreed to discuss the National Sports Administration Bill and the National Anti -Doping (Amendment) Bill for two days and the two bills were scheduled to discuss and pass them together in the Lok Sabha on Monday, but they disrupted the proceedings.

SIR cannot be discussed: Rijiju
The opposition is emphasizing that the government agreed to the demand for discussion on special intensive revision (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar before extending its legislative agenda in Parliament. However, the minister has clarified that SIR cannot be discussed in Parliament as this process is part of the administrative action and functioning of the Election Commission. He said that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had cited a decision by former president and late Congress leader Balram Jakhar that the Parliament could not discuss the functioning of a constitutional institution like Election Commission. He said that Parliament can discuss elections reforms, but not the functioning of the Commission. He also said that the Election Commission has already done SIR exercise.
