The dispute between TMC MPs Mahua Moitra and Kalyan Banerjee does not seem to stop. Kalyan Banerjee is enraged when Mahua called Banerjee a pig in a podcast with India Today. He retaliated at his colleague and described his words as inhuman.
Kalyan Banerjee has shared a long post on X while retaliating at Mahua. Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘I have recently noticed the personal comments made by Mahua Moitra in a public podcast. His words, including the use of inhuman language such as comparing a fellow MP with a ‘pig’, is not only unfortunate, but also shows deep neglect to the basic rules of decent dialogue.
In fact, Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra reacted to Kalyan Banerjee’s remarks on her wedding with Pinaki Mishra on Sunday, saying, ‘You do not fight wrestling from the pig, because the pig likes it and you get dirty. In India, there are extreme female-malicious, sexually frustrated, corrupt men and are represented in all parties in Parliament.
Banerjee furious over Mahua’s statement
In response to this, Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘Those who think that abuses can replace the reply, they should consider what kind of politics they are doing and it reveals hollowness. When a public representative comes down to abusive and porn satire, it shows not strength, but insecurity.
He said that I want to say this clearly, what I said were questions of public responsibility and personal conduct, which every public person should be ready to face- whether it is male or female. If these facts are uncomfortable or uncomfortable, then it is not justified to call a legitimate criticism as ‘female malice’ to avoid investigation.
‘It is wrong to call a colleague frustrated’
Banerjee further said that it is not wrong to call a male colleague ‘sexually frustrated’. If such a language was used for a woman, then there would have been anger in the whole country, and it is also justified. But when a man is targeted, he is either ignored or appreciated.
He also said, ‘I make it clear that abuses are abused. Such comments are not only indecent, but they also strengthen a poisonous double standards, where men are expected to bear quietly, if someone says the same thing, then her meaning changes and it will never be tolerated.
Resignation from TMC’s Whip Chief
At the same time, after a long post on social media, Kalyan Banerjee announced the resignation of the post of Chief Whip of TMC in the Lok Sabha.
According to the news agency PTI, he said, “I have left the post of Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha, because ‘Didi’ (West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee) said during the virtual meeting that there is a lack of coordination among the party MPs. So the blame is on me. So I have decided to step down.”
However, according to sources, now he can rethink his resignation and has also contacted the top leaders of Trinamool.
