Tesla supercharges in india: American electric car manufacturer Tesla has officially launched its first Super Charging Station in India at the Upskale One in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai today. After opening its first showroom in Mumbai, the company has now also set up the first supercharging station in the city, making it the first supercharging station to be launched in the country.
Car will be charged in 14 minutes!
On July 15, Tesla officially launched his first car Tesla Model Y in India. The initial price of which is Rs 59.89 lakh to Rs 73.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It is being told that these supercharging stations will provide extremely fast charging speed for compatible cars. It is being claimed that it is capable of providing a range of about 300 km in just 14 minutes of charging.
How much will be spent on charging?
It is being told that four V4 supercharger stalls (DC Fast Charger) and four Destination Charging Stall (AC Charger) have been set up in this new charging center. The supercharger with a capacity of up to 250 kW is priced at 24 per KWH, while the Destination Charger will provide 11 kW charging facility at the rate of Rs 14 per KWH. The company plans to start three more such charging stations in Lower Parel, Thane and Navi Mumbai by September quarter.
267 km in 15 minutes
Let me tell you that Tesla claims that the company’s first car in India is capable of providing a range of up to 267 kilometers from only 15 minutes of ‘supercharging’. Users can make charging access, monitor and payment through the Tesla app, which will also give information about the availability and charging status of real time charging stalls.
With the launch of Tesla model Y in Mumbai, its official booking has started across the country. Now from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in the whole country, anyone can book Tesla’s first car. However, the company had clarified in its previous statement that, in the case of delivery of cars, Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram and Pune would be given preference. After this, there is a plan to deliver the car in other states in Phase Manor.
How is Tesla Model Y
The Tesla model Y has been introduced in the Indian market with two different battery packs (60 kWh and a large 75 kWh battery pack). Its standard variants have a single electric motor, which generates about 295 HP power. Apart from this, a 60 kwh battery gives a 500 km driving range (WLTP certified) range once charged. While the long range variant gives 622 km driving range.
Tesla claims that the rear wheel drive version can catch a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the long range version takes 5.6 seconds to cover the same distance. The battery of this car will be charged so much in just 15 minutes from the supercharger, you will get a driving range of about 238 km to 267 km.
