The former royal family of Jaisalmer has objected to a map in the book of Social Science (Social Science) of 8th grade of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
,
Chaitanyaraj Singh, a former royal family member of Jaisalmer, says that Jaisalmer is shown part of the Maratha Empire in the map. This is wrong. He has demanded amendment from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as soon as possible.
Chaitanyaraj Singh’s objection on the map …
Historically misleading, factless and seriously objectionable
At 5.26 pm on Monday evening, the former royal family member of Jaisalmer, Chaitanyaraj Singh, posted on the social media handle ‘X’. They have registered their protest. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan demanded amendment.
He objected to the map shown in the 8th NCERT Social Science Subject Textbook (Unit 3, page No. 71). It depicts Jaisalmer part of the then Maratha Empire.
He has written- It is historically misleading, factless and seriously objectionable.
Jaisalmer royal family member, former Maharawal Chaitanya Raj Singh.
Marathas never interfere in the princely state of Jaisalmer He has written- This type of unconfirmed and historical evidence without information is not only questioned the credibility of institutions like NCERT, but also hurts our glorious history and public sentiments. This subject seems not only the fault of a textbook, but also seems to attempt to tarnish the sacrifice, sovereignty and valor of our ancestors.
There is no mention of Maratha suzerainty, invasion, taxation or dominance anywhere in the authentic historical sources available in the context of the princely state of Jaisalmer. In contrast, it is clearly written in our state books that the Marathas never interfered in the princely state of Jaisalmer.
Chaitanyaraj Singh wrote posting to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan-
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan ji, on behalf of the entire Jaisalmer family, I want to draw your attention to this burning subject that this type of flawed, malicious and agenda-induced presentation done by NCERT should be taken immediately and amended immediately. It is not just a fact amendment, but a subject related to our historical dignity, self -esteem and integrity of national curriculum. Rapid and concrete action is expected on this subject.
What in the map The map printed in the book mentions the Maratha Empire and the princely state of Jaisalmer is also shown part of the Maratha Empire. There is objection to this. It is claimed that Jaisalmer was not part of the Maratha Empire.
The map depicts the Maratha Empire from Kolhapura to Peshawar and Cuttack in the north. In this, Jaisalmer is also shown in the Maratha Empire.
According to the recorded history of Jaisalmer- Mughals also could not win Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer was founded by Rawal-Jaisal, a descendant of Yaduvanshi Bhati, around 1178 in the early period of Indian history.
The descendants of Rawal Jaisal ruled here for 770 years without disturbing the dynasty order until the republic of India changes, which is an important event in itself. The state of Jaisalmer has seen and endured many periods of the history of India. The state was successful in maintaining its existence in the Mughal Empire for nearly 300 years.
Jaisalmer city was attacked by Khilji, Rathore, Mughal, Tughlaq etc. several times. But they never won it. This entire period of the history of Bhatis was not a period of struggle for power. But there was a struggle to maintain existence, in which these people were successful. From the establishment of the English state in India to the end, this state kept its dynasty pride and importance unchanged.
After India’s independence, it merged into the Indian Republic. At the time of merger of the Indian Republic, its geographical area was spread over a wide range of 16,062 square miles.
