Another terrorist has been killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Akhhal area of Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Let us know that this operation of security forces is going on for the last 10 days and still some terrorists are reported to be hiding. It has become one of the longest anti -terror campaigns in the Kashmir Valley. The operation started on August 1, when the security forces got a strong information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
So far, the security forces have killed many terrorists, but at least three or more terrorists are still hiding by taking advantage of bases such as dense forests and natural caves. The sounds of firing and blasts overnight continued to resonate in the area.
Sacrifice
In this encounter, two soldiers of the Indian Army, Lt Col Pritpal Singh and constable Harminder Singh have been martyred. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army posted on X and said that the Chinar Core pays tribute to the heroes while performing duty for the nation. His courage and dedication will always inspire us. Apart from this, two other soldiers have been injured in the firing done by the terrorists, who are undergoing treatment.
High-tech monitoring and help of special forces
The operation is monitored by Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Nalin Prabhat and the Army’s Northern Commander Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma. Drone and helicopters are being used to find terrorists, while para commandos are also actively involved in this campaign. In the initial phase of the search operation, the terrorists started firing on the security forces, causing the encounter to prolonged.
Strategic challenges
The dense forest and natural caves of Akhal region give terrorists sufficient opportunities to hide and change the movement. This is the reason why the operation has been going on for several days. The security forces have completely surrounded the area so that there is no possibility of terrorists escape.
