Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday (August 09, 2025) accused the Congress of trying to give a new identity to the intruders. He said that if the party has so much attachment to the intruders, then why does not send him to Rahul Gandhi’s house.
CM Sarma claimed that Congress state president Gaurav Gogoi recently called the intruders as ‘Na Asiamia’ (new Assamese). He said, “If they have said so, they should give them place in their house, because there is no place for them in our house.”
Not sufficient modification for original Assams: CM Sarma
Himant Bisw Sarma told reporters on the sidelines of a program that if there is not enough resources or space for the original Association, how can the new Assams be adjusted. He said, “There is neither land, nor place, nor house. We cannot provide adequate facilities to the Assamese. In such a situation, how can we provide these facilities to these so -called new Assams?”

The Chief Minister said that if Gogoi is so worried about them, then he should send these people to Rahul Gandhi’s house. ” He said that eviction campaign will continue to make government land encroachment free.

10,000 artists will give a presentation on Bagurumba folk dance: Sarma
Meanwhile, Sarma said that in November, more than 10,000 artists will perform Bodo folk dance ‘Bagurumba’ on the lines of Bihu and Jhumuir. He said in a post on ‘X’, “After the immense success of Bihu and Jhumuir, the time has come to become the main attraction of Bagurumba. In November, more than 10,000 artists will showcase this dance to the whole world and further enhance the legacy of our Bodo community. “
