In Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, militants attacked a government high school with an improvised explosive device (IED). According to official sources, the incident took place in Karabagh area of Bermel tehsil of South Waziristan district. Many school classes and boundary walls were completely destroyed in the blast. There is no news of any casualty in this attack. Police sources said that the increasing unrest in the area in recent times has created an atmosphere of fear, due to which educational activities are being badly affected.
Meanwhile, people are facing big problems on the Vana-Ajam Warsak highway. Recently, the terrorists destroyed three bridges from explosives, which disrupted the movement of the general public. Local residents have expressed deep concern over the incident and demanded the government to start immediate investigation and strengthen security measures.

This is not the first incident. Earlier on June 6, unknown assailants also blew up a government high school in Akbari village under the jurisdiction of Gul Imam police station in Tank district. Many school rooms collapsed in that blast.
Over 450 schools destroyed
According to data collected by local NGOs, more than 450 schools have been destroyed in such attacks in the province in the last decade (2015-2025). Due to this, many students either had to leave studies or hold classes near ruins. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tanks are against the girls’ education of girls (girls education) and often target their schools.

Many girls’ schools attack in Pakistan
By 2019, there were several attacks on girls’ schools in Pakistan, especially in the Swat Valley and other north-west areas, where the Pakistani Taliban had long control. In 2012 too, the terrorists attacked Malala Yousafzai, who was a teenager student and worker advocating girls at that time. Malala later became the Nobel Peace Prize winner.
