Ukraine President Valodimir Jailonsky spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the telephone on Monday. He gave information about this by posting a post on social media platform x. Jailonsky said in the X post, “There was a long and important conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which bilateral cooperation and global diplomatic situation was discussed in detail.”
He thanked him for the support given by the Indian Prime Minister to the Ukrainian people. Valodimir Jailonsky said that he informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the recent attacks of Russia, especially an attack on a bus station in Japorizia, in which dozens of people were injured. He said, “At a time when there is a diplomatic possibility to end the war, Russia is only showing the desire to continue its aggression and killings.”

PM Modi said in a post on X, ‘I was happy to talk to the President Jailonsky and know his views on recent developments. I made India aware of the firm state of India over the need for a quick and peaceful solution of the struggle. India is committed to further strengthening bilateral relations with Ukraine along with making every possible contribution in this regard.
Jailonsky said that PM Modi supported Ukraine’s peace efforts. He said, ‘India agrees that Ukraine’s participation in all decisions related to Ukraine is mandatory. Any compromise will be meaningless without it and no result will be revealed. The Ukrainian President said that he also discussed in detail the sanctions against Russia with the Indian Prime Minister.

Jailonsky said that he stressed the need to ban Russian energy, especially oil exports in a conversation with PM Modi, so that Russia’s ability to fund the war could be reduced. He said, every leader should give a clear message to Moscow which can affect Russia. The two leaders agreed to hold a personal meeting during the United Nations General Assembly in September. Jailonsky said that he invited PM Modi to come to Ukraine, and the Indian Prime Minister also invited him to visit India. The two leaders agreed to this.
