Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with Uzbekistan President Shavakat Mirzioev, which discussed cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, connectivity, health and technology.

The Prime Minister described his conversation with Mirzioev as ‘meaningful’. He wrote on ‘X’, ‘We reviewed the progress made in important areas of bilateral cooperation and reiterated our shared resolve to carry forward the Bharat-Ujbekistan strategic partnership.’

The conversation started by Uzbekistan took place at a time when on August 15, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to talk in Alaska, in which ways to end the Ukraine struggle will be discussed.

Mirzioev wishes India in advance of Independence Day

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the two leaders reviewed the progress made in many important areas like business, connectivity, health, technology and mutual relations of people. In addition, he shared views on regional and global issues of mutual interest and reiterated the commitment to further strengthen centuries -old relations between India and Central Asia.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch. According to the PMO, ‘President Mirzioev greeted the Prime Minister and the people of India in advance of the 79th Independence Day’.
