Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Jari has described India’s decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty as an attack on the Indus Valley Civilization and Culture. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the three -day annual festival at the Dargah of Sindhi saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Bilawal also said that Pakistan always advocates peace, but if India forces him to war, the country will not back down.
Bilawal Bhutto said, “If there was a war, we will give a message to the Modi government from the land of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai that we will not back down, we will not bow down and if you dare to encroach on the Indus River, people of every province of Pakistan will be ready to compete.” After the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, India took many strict steps against Pakistan, including suspending the 1960 Indus Water Treaty.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) president Bilawal Bhutto said that the Indus River is not only the only major source of water for their country, but is also deeply connected to the entire history of the people here. He said, ‘Indus Valley Civilization is associated with this river. Attack on this river is an attack on our civilization, our history and our culture.
Talking about his efforts to present the attitude of Pakistan to the world, Bilawal said that Pakistan’s voice has arisen around the world against the threats of shutting down water supply of 200 million people. Addressing the public, Bilawal Bhutto said that the people of Pakistan have sufficient strength to face enemies (India) and 6 rivers from them (Sutlej, Beas, Ravi, Sindhu, Jhelum and Jhelum and Chenab rivers).
