Four days after the woman’s bodies were found at several places in Chimpuganhalli in Tumkuru district of Karnataka, the police arrested the son -in -law and two others in this sensational murder case on Monday (11 August 2025). The deceased has been identified as 42 -year -old Lakshmi Devi of Bellavi village.
Among the accused, son -in -law Dr. Ramchandraya S. (47), His acquaintance Satish K. N. (38) And Kiran K. S. (32) included. All three are residents of Kallahalli. On August 3, Lakshmi Devi went to meet her daughter Tejashwi. This was Tejashwi’s second marriage and is the wife of Ramchandraya. The next day Devi’s husband Basavaraj lodged a missing complaint with the Bellavi police. On August 7, the police received information about finding the body parts kept in bags at 19 different places in Chimpuganhalli. Initial investigation was difficult to identify the body, but later the DNA and the identity process confirmed that she was Lakshmi Devi.
How accused caught in investigation
The police saw a Maruti Suzuki Brezza in CCTV footage, which was used to throw a piece of the corpse. This vehicle was registered in the name of Satish. Satish was interrogated in custody, where he revealed the entire conspiracy. Kiran was also arrested based on his statement. The main accused Ramchandraya was in the shrine after the murder and was not available for questioning, which deepened the suspicion of the police.
Murder purpose
According to Superintendent of Police Ashok K V, Ramchandraya was angry with his mother -in -law’s intervention. She says that Lakshmi Devi used to interfere in her marriage and provokes wife Tejashwi against her. Ramchandraya’s first marriage divorce has not been finalized yet and in 2019 he married Tejashwi second.
Investigation and further action so far
The police do not yet have a clear information as to why the body was divided into 19 pieces and thrown at different places. The accused have been produced in police custody by producing in court. However, SP Ashok also made it clear that this murder has no relation with human sacrifice.
