Ajit Doval met Putin once a day after Trump imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on India. Due to purchasing crude oil from Russia, America has imposed tariffs on India.

Jaishankar will go to Russia after meeting Trump-Putin

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to meet on Friday (15 August 2025). After this, S Jaishankar will go to Russia. In this sense, this tour is also considered very important. The two leaders are going to meet in Alaska, which used to be a part of Russia. Trump will meet Putin amid threats to impose additional restrictions on Russia.

These issues were talked about in meeting with Doval

Russian President Vladimir Putin met Ajit Doval in Kremlin on Thursday (7 August 2025). The meeting was attended by senior Russian officials, including Sergei Shigu and President’s aide Yuri Ushakov. In this meeting, the focus was on regional security, defense cooperation and preparations for the upcoming leadership level meeting.

According to Russia’s Interfax News Agency, NSA Doval said in his meeting with Shigu, “We have now established very good relations that we give great importance. There is a strategic partnership between our countries.” During this, Ushakov, a colleague of Russian President Putin, said that there has been an agreement between our leaders to meet every year and now it is our turn.

Trump gave this advice to Putin

Trump said on Monday (11 August 2025) that due to the US fee levied on India to buy Russian oil, the already running Moscow economy has suffered a major setback. Trump described India as Russia’s largest or second largest oil buyer.
