A villager named ‘Bombay’ caught the leopard by its tail in Tumkur district of Karnataka. By doing this he saved the lives of women and children. The leopard had eaten many animals of the village, due to which the villagers were scared. On Monday he informed the Forest Department about this.

The Forest Department team arrived to rescue the leopard, a net and a cage were installed. The Forest Department team also included some villagers. Among them was a villager named Bombay. According to the report of Times of India, a young man named Yogananda once ran away from his village to Mumbai. After this the villagers started calling it Bombay.

Bombay told the story of catching the leopard by its tail Yoganand alias Bombay said, “After setting up the net and cage, we along with the forest department team started searching for footprints. The leopard was nowhere to be seen. Women, children and villagers had also come there to watch the rescue operation.

Suddenly a leopard came out of a bush and ran towards the women and children. I thought it might attack him and my companions. I trusted God and grabbed him by the tail. I used all my strength. The forest department team also worked very quickly and due to this the leopard was captured.

I was not scared while catching the leopard, but when the forest department team told me how fast it can attack humans, I became quite worried. Ultimately no one was harmed during this operation. Neither to leopards nor to humans.”

4 year old leopard had eye problem Forest Department officer Anupama H said that the leopard has been sent to the rescue center in Mysuru. His age is about 4 years. He had become very weak because there is a dearth of prey in that area. The leopard cannot even see properly. He will be treated.
