Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will start ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ from Sasaram in Bihar from August 17 to protest against the SIR process and ‘vote theft’ in Bihar. All the leaders of India block including senior RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will be involved in the yatra.
Giving this information at the Congress headquarters at Indira Bhavan, Pawan Kheda, Chairman of the media and publicity department, presented a detailed roadmap of the yatra. He informed that the yatra will start from Sasaram in Bihar on August 17 and it will cover a distance of 1300 km in 16 days. Apart from Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, other leaders of India block will also be involved in the yatra.
The Congress leader said that the yatra on August 17, Sasaram, Rohtas; Dev Road, Amba-Kundumba on 18 August; Hanuman Temple, Poonama, Wazirganj on 19 August; On August 21, three Mohani Durga Temple, Sheikhpura; Chandra Bagh Chowk, Munger on 22 August; On August 23, Kurseli Chowk, Bari, Katihar; Khushkibagh, Katihar to Purnia on 24 August; Hussain Chowk, Supaul on 26 August; Gangwara Mahavir Place, Darbhanga on 27 August; Riga Road, Sitamarhi on August 28; On August 29, Harivatika Gandhi Chowk, Bettiah; On August 30, Ekma Chowk, Ekma Assembly, Chhapra will arrive. It will conclude with a huge rally in Patna on 01 September. The journey will rest on 20, 25 and 31 August.
BJP accused of ‘vote theft’ imposed on BJP
Pawan Kheda said that this journey is being taken out for the fight for the right to ‘one person-one vote’. He alleged that the BJP has been caught red -handed to add and cut votes in a fake way. The SIR process in Bihar has clearly revealed the plot of ‘vote theft’. Now ordinary citizens are also taking evidence of vote theft.
What did Pawan Kheda say about SIR process?
Congress leader Pawan Kheda targeted the Election Commission citing the recent decision of the Supreme Court regarding SIR (special intensive revision). He said that the Supreme Court had to intervene in the matter, after which the Election Commission had to accept the demands of India block and social workers. He said that it was not just a conspiracy to take away the vote, but a conspiracy to snatch the identity of Dalits, backward, tribals, underprivileged, exploited, victims and minorities.
