The government has described the feedback system and report card based evaluation behind these transfers. The Chief Minister, Minister of State for Home Affairs and Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, issued orders in just a few hours by evaluating the response of citizens, functioning of officers and secret control room feedback system.
The special thing is that young IPS officers of 2019-20 batch have been deployed in the zone of cities, while 2018 and this has been given important responsibilities of the districts to senior officials. At the same time, officers of 2012-13 batch (who have to get promotion soon) have been entrusted with the responsibility of important departments like CID Crime and Economic Offenses.
Women officials appointed for the posts
The government has also posted women officials in proportional number of important posts. New officers of 2021 batch have been given responsibilities like cybercrime, coastal security, jail management and technical cells. At the same time, senior officials have been appointed to important positions like State Monitoring Cell and CID Economic Offenses Branch.
This major transfer done before the local body and panchayat elections is considered to be very important from political and administrative terms. While the government has given importance to seniority, the possibility of innovation has increased by giving big and challenging postings to the youth. According to sources, if the performance does not meet expectations, then further reshuffle is also possible.
