In Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, a person has been arrested for killing his mother. The police on Tuesday informed that the man killed his mother and buried her in a field near the house. According to the police, 51-year-old Jayamanti Devi, a resident of Chadch village of Sarahan Gram Panchayat under Pachhad sub-division, was allegedly murdered on Saturday night.
The matter came to light when his son Pushp Kumar approached the police and lodged a complaint of missing. Police said during the preliminary investigation, Pushp Kumar’s sister and several residents of the area expressed doubts that her mother could have a role in her disappearance, as he often quarreled with her mother.
In interrogation, the accused admitted that it was raining heavy on Saturday evening. Then he had an argument with his mother about a domestic matter and he attacked his mother with something heavy. Jayamanti Devi’s head, hand and other parts of the body suffered serious injuries in the attack. The accused said that he later strangled him to death. Police said that taking advantage of the rain and darkness, he buried the body of the woman in a field about 100 meters from the house.
After the revelations, the police registered a case of murder against Pushp Kumar and arrested him. Rajgarh Deputy Superintendent of Police VC Negi said that the buried body was recovered on Monday evening and his post -mortem will be done on Tuesday. Lachhi Kumar, the father of the accused, died two months ago. Earlier, a case of attacking family members was registered against the accused.
