Indian Railway Rule: Airlines rule in train journey, more than limit … So it will be fined huge! – Indian Railways to Regulate Your Luggage Weight Just Like the Airlines do in India Tutc

While Indian Railway is making all efforts for the safety and facilities of passengers traveling by train, now the Railways has prepared to strictly implement a rule (Railway Rule), which will be just like passengers traveling by airplanes. Yes, we are talking about the weight of the goods taken along during the journey, which will now control Railway Luggage Rule Like AIRLINES. However, this rule is already, but it could not be fully implemented.

So much is the limit to carry free goods
Now according to the standards set, passengers will be able to take goods with them while traveling in Indian Railways. Limits related to this will be strictly implemented on the weight of goods at some major railway stations of the country. Like the airlines, these rules are ready to be fully implemented for the journey of the train. According to the rule, permission for free goods of different categories of travel varies.

For example, it will be allowed to carry up to 70 kg of goods for those traveling in first class AC coach. For AC second class passengers, this limit will be 50 kg and third AC and 40 kg for sleeper class passengers. Talk about the passengers traveling on general ticket, then the goods carrying them along with them can weigh up to 35 kg.

Railways told the risk to more goods
At present, Northern Railway and North Central Railway have decided to start this system from major stations of Lucknow and Prayagraj division. Railway stations which have been identified include Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Kanpur and Aligarh Junctions. Apart from this, Lucknow Charbagh, Banaras, Prayagraj Chivki, Subedarganj, Mirzapur, Tundla, Aligarh, Govindpuri and Etawah are also in the list.

Railway officials say in this regard that these rules are necessary for both the safety and convenience of the railway passengers, because many times passengers carry a lot of goods with them, which leads to difficulty in sitting and walking in the coach. He has termed additional luggage as a security risk.

The reason for the bag was more, even the fine
Like the airport at the railway station, the facility of booking its goods has been started. If there will be a bag or briefcase of overweight than the fixed limit and it hinders the boarding space, then there is a provision to impose a fine on them. According to the Railways, in the investigation, more than the limited limit and without booking goods, more than normal rate will have to be paid. Explain that passengers will have to be allowed to carry additional goods up to 10 kg with them, more luggage will have to be booked.

Luggage check from electronic machines
Indian Railways will also install electronic luggage machines at stations to implement the rules regarding the goods of passengers and run it smooth. The weight of the bags of the passengers and its size will be checked before the entry on the railway platform. Another special thing is that the passengers’ belongings will not only be weight, but also their travel bag’s size will be kept in this scope.

It is clear that if the size of the bag is excessive than necessary, then a penalty can be imposed, even if the weight is less than the limit. According to Kuldeep Tiwari, Senior DCM of Lucknow Northern Railway, this step is being taken for the convenience of passengers.
