During the announcement of the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025, the selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar was stopped from answering on the question related to Pakistan. During a conversation with the media in Mumbai, Agarkar was about to say something that the BCCI representative intervened in the middle and silenced them.
The Indian cricket team will take on Pakistan in Dubai on 14 September. After the Pahalgam terror attack, the teams of the two countries will be face to face for the first time. India and Pakistan can face a maximum of three times in the tournament. After the group stage, there is a possibility of clash in Super-4 and finals.

However, in view of the existing border stress and terrorist attack, protests are also being seen in the country. In May, sources told India Today that India will not participate in the Asia Cup nor host it. But later the BCCI’s attitude changed and the tournament was shifted to the Neutral Venue i.e. the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Many former cricketers have also opposed playing from Pakistan. Kedar Jadhav and Harbhajan Singh advised the BCCI not to play the match with Pakistan. Harbhajan, who was part of India’s team in the World Championship of Legends, was also among the players who boycotted the competition against Pakistan in that exhibition tournament.
At the same time, Kedar Jadhav appealed to boycott matches against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. The tournament will start in UAE from 9 September.
Jadhav told ANI, ‘I don’t think the Indian team should play. I am confident that India will not play. Wherever India will clash with Pakistan, India will win. But this match should not be at all. I can say with the claim that this will not happen.
