Harare: Veteran batsman Brendan Taylor, who is returning to the ODI team after a long gap of four years, has achieved a major achievement in the second match of the series against Sri Lanka. The 39 -year -old former captain Taylor may have been dismissed by just 20 runs in the second ODI played at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, but it was enough to set a big record for him.
During the innings of 20 runs in 37 balls, Taylor crossed the 10,000 international run mark and became only the third player of his country to achieve this position with players like Andy Flower and Grant Flower.

After the return, Taylor was able to score only 20 runs in his second ODI. In the first ODI, he was dismissed for zero, in which Zimbabwe lost by seven runs. Meanwhile, England international player Sam Karan and Tom Karan’s brother Ben Karan gave another half -century in the series. After scoring 70 runs in the first ODI for Zimbabwe, he played a bang of 79 runs in 95 balls in the second match.
Talking about the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. The visiting team had made a change in its playing XI, which included opener Nuvanidu Fernando instead of Nishan Madushaka. Zimbabwe scored 277 runs losing seven wickets. In response, Sri Lanka scored 194 runs in 39 overs by losing three wickets in 39 overs till the time of writing news.
