Congress took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (January 10, 2025) over a podcast related to him. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that after earlier declaring himself to be the incarnation of God, he is now trying to “control the damage”. Prime Minister Modi said on Friday that he is not a ‘god’ but a human being and he can also make mistakes, but he will never make mistakes with bad intentions.
While interacting in a podcast with Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of market investment platform ‘Zerodha’, PM Modi also said that he had no political ambitions but due to circumstances, he traveled to the post of Prime Minister.
Congress targeted PM
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, citing an interview of Prime Minister Modi during the Lok Sabha elections, posted on ‘X’, “This is being said by the person who had declared himself the self-proclaimed incarnation of God only eight months ago. This is “Clearly damage control.”
In another post, in the same context, the Congress leader wrote, “Now that the non-biological Prime Minister is again realizing that he is also a human being, in the last 6 days, foreign investors have withdrawn nearly 2 billion dollars from our stock market. This reflects: the growing impact of our weak macro fundamentals – stagnant wages, faltering private investment and declining consumption, in the interests of the SEBI chairperson. A complete loss of investor confidence in India’s financial markets following the conflict-related revelations; India’s continuing decline as a destination for direct and indirect foreign investment compared to other countries, including Vietnam and Malaysia; “The rupee is continuously depreciating, due to which the currency risk is increasing.”
