There will now be corporate style working in government hospitals of Punjab. In which patients will be helped from taking prescriptions and filling forms to seeing the doctor and dropping them in the car. For this, the state government is setting up a facilitation centre.

,

The Health Department claims that these facilities will compete with the services provided in private hospitals. Work on the project has started in 4 districts. These centers will be opened in civil hospitals of 23 districts in the next 6 months. One center will cost Rs 46 lakh to Rs 76 lakh. This responsibility has been given to a private agency. However, the health department will work as the nodal agency.

What is the arrangement of hospitals now? At present, there are only one or two counters for cutting slips in government hospitals in the state. In which slips are made for all types of services starting from OPD and Indoor. In such circumstances, there is often a crowd there. Patients have to wait for hours to get a prescription just to see the doctor.

What is the plan of Punjab government? Under this scheme, reception counters will be set up in a separate facility center in every civil hospital. These will have separate counters for services ranging from OPD slip to birth-death registration, government schemes including Ayushman, operations, medical etc. Apart from this, there will also be other basic facilities for the people including rest room and washroom. Apart from this, some volunteers will be deployed, who will help the patients as per need in seeing the doctor and then drop them to the vehicle.

Records of patients’ diseases will also be maintained In this scheme, records of patients’ diseases will also be kept. With this, the government will be able to know how many patients of which disease are coming from which area in which district. In such a situation, similar arrangements will be made for their treatment.

The Punjab government claims that about 842 Aam Aadmi clinics are running in the state.

More than 842 common man clinics are running To provide treatment to the people of Punjab near their homes, around 842 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been started by the government. Of these, there are 530 clinics in rural areas and 312 in urban areas. More than 2 crore people have got their treatment done so far.

However, in between the central government had stopped NHM funds. It was also alleged that common man clinics have been opened in Punjab by misusing central funds. However, now a consensus has been reached between both the parties. Now the strategy has been made that the names of Aam Aadmi Clinic, formed with 60-40 share of Central and Punjab Government, will be changed. The names of the Aam Aadmi Clinics which are running in buildings built by the government itself or donated by any individual, will not change.
