ED action on smuggling racket in Telangana, bottles of expensive liquor including Johnny Walker seized


In Telangana, the enforcement team of Rangarddy and Hyderabad seized a large consignment of premium liquor and jaggery as part of the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor smuggling and construction. The total value is estimated at Rs 14.56 lakh. This action is an important step towards demolishing an illegal liquor network, promoting health risks and revenue loss.

The enforcement team recovered 125 premium liquor bottles in a raid organized in Shamshabad area. These bottles were smuggled from other states and there were plans to sell without paying duty. The team of DTF CI Pawan Kumar and Chewla SHO under the leadership of Shamshaabad Excise Superintendent conducted this successful operation. The value of the seized liquor is estimated to be in lakhs and the accused was arrested and handed over to the Amirpet Excise Police.

Expensive whiskey bottles seized

In this sequence, expensive whiskey bottles like Johnny Walker were seized from Mushirabad area. The consignment was hidden for illegal sale, which was part of the smuggling network in the city markets. Enforcement officials said that this action was based on information and questioning is being issued to the accused.

This consignment being smuggled from Karnataka border stopped

The biggest seizure was associated with illegal liquor manufacture, where 2,010 kg of jaggery was recovered. This jaggery was black jaggery, which is used in Illisit Bruri. Rangarady’s team stopped this consignment smiling from the Karnataka border. Other ingredients like alum were also found along with jaggery, which are used to speed up the production of alcohol. The total value is worth Rs 14.56 lakh, including both alcohol and jaggery.

Officials of the Excise Department said that this campaign will continue to continue state -wide. In recent times, illegal liquor worth more than 19 lakhs has been seized in many raids in Telangana. Illegal liquor crimes are fatal for health and the department is also running a public awareness campaign. The accused will be punished and further investigation is going on.
