Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj is often in discussion about his religious views and political statements. This time he has announced to bring a new turn in the political scenario of Bihar. He said that his highest priority is to protect cow-mother, which he describes the soul of Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma.
They believe that cows of pure indigenous breed of Bihar have almost disappeared. To deal with this crisis, they are doing a new political experiment by moving away from traditional methods. He said in clear terms, “Now the voters come forward and vote to protect the cows.” This announcement comes when the electoral atmosphere in Bihar is gradually being created and the major parties NDA and Grand Alliance are preparing their own strategy.
Announcement to field ‘cow-guard’ candidates for 243 seats
Swami Avimukteshwaranand made it clear that he has no political party nor will he form an alliance with any party. Despite this, they are planning to field independent candidates in all 243 assembly seats of Bihar. He said that a candidate will be chosen from every constituency who will be devoted to cow protection. These candidates will get their blessings and support. This is a way of protest, because no party that has come to power till now took concrete steps on this issue.
Confluence of cow protection and politics
In India, cow is not just an animal, but a symbol of religious and cultural identity. In Hindu society, cow-mother is considered sacred and the issue of cow protection has been at the center of politics for a long time. Swami Avimukteshwaranand said, “Atrocities on Gau Mata are constantly increasing. We brought many parties to power one by one, but no one has taken concrete steps for cow protection. “Now they will directly appeal to the voters to vote only those candidates who see the protection of the cow with religion and sin and sin. His message directly addresses the rural and traditional voters, where the cow is not only a means of livelihood but a symbol of faith.
