US President Donald Trump has announced a 100 % tariff on import of patent and branded drugs, which will be applicable from October 1. At the same time, 50 percent tariff has been imposed on furniture. Meanwhile, a big update has come up with the Indo-US trade agreement.
According to an official statement by the Ministry of Commerce of India, the Indian delegation held several meetings with the US from 22-24 September 2025 under the chairmanship of Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. In which positive reactions have come from both sides and it is believed that it may soon be agreed to reduce tariffs from both sides.
In this meeting, the Union Minister also met US trade representative Ambassador Jamison Greer and US Ambassador-Penam Sergio Gore in this meeting.

Officials have clarified that there will soon be talks between the two sides to reach the beneficial agreement. India demanded this from America
Government officials also told Business Today TV that the conversation is still going on. An official of India’s Ministry of Trade said that positive talks are taking place. India has demanded to remove 25% tariffs, while Washington is pressurizing New Delhi to expand its energy trade with the US.
