India is going to take a big step in the telecom sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start two important initiatives tomorrow. The first is to set up 98 thousand new 4G mobile towers across the country. Minister of Communication Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that no corner of India will now be untouched by connectivity.

The second major achievement is the launch of indigenous 4G network, which is completely made in India, software-driving and cloud-based technology platforms. This network is ready for future and can be upgraded to 5G without any hassle.

Scindia said that these towers are already serving 2.2 crore customers across the country, due to which digital divide is decreasing. He said, ‘Now Bihar students will be able to connect with online education, the farmers of Punjab will be able to see Mandi Bhava in real time, Kashmir soldiers will be connected to their family and the entrepreneurs of North East will get access to international funding and expertise.’

This rollout is considered an important step towards realizing India’s dream of becoming a global telecom hub. Under the self -sufficient Bharat Mission, BSNL has completely deployed indigenous 4G technology stack. It has been integrated by Tejas Network’s Ran, C-Dot core network and TCS.

Scindia said that 100% 4G saturation network will also be inaugurated through Digital India Nidhi (DBN). About 29 thousand villages have been connected under this project. The special thing is that this achievement is coming on the occasion of BSNL’s Silver Jubilee i.e. 25 years.

Industry experts believe that India has joined the world’s leading telecom equipment manufacturing hubs. The work which seemed impossible four years ago has become a reality today. This shows the focus of the government’s self-reclourification, digital including and global leadership.

Scindia said, “To provide world-class telecom service to 1.2 billion people and establish India as a telecom manufacturing hub, both achievements are making India a driver of global digital growth ‘
