The Ladakh administration has arrested climate activist and educationist Sonam Wangchuk today. The reaction of this has come out of his wife and many parties. Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Geetanjali Angamo angrily said that my husband is being treated like a criminal without any reason.
At the same time, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Sonam Wangchuk has been arrested, this is unfortunate. The way the central government has been behind them since yesterday, it seemed that something like this could happen. Promises were made to them as well, as we were made to us. Now I do not understand why the central government is retracting its promises.
On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party will protest against the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk at 7 pm today. The demonstration will take place at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Pradesh Convenor Saurabh Bhardwaj will be present in this protest.
Jammu and Kashmir Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir said that I just came to know that Sonam Wangchuk has been arrested. He is a respected person who has dedicated himself to Ladakh. The people of Ladakh have always been known for their peace loving nature, a group of workers have been protesting for the last 6 years. Two of these workers fell seriously ill. In view of this, the youth were excited. The government has shared a picture in which a Congress councilor is allegedly seen inciting people. The Congress councilor has challenged this and said that he was not. No Congress worker had any involvement in this violence. The local Congress unit has demanded a judicial inquiry into the entire incident. Also said that it is wrong to blame the Congress, the government there did not handle the whole incident properly.
Please tell that Sonam Wangchuk was arrested 2 days after the violent protests in Leh from her village Ularyakatopo. Wangchuk was arrested by the police team led by Ladakh DGP SD Singh Jamwal.
