The Calcutta High Court on Friday directed the Central Government to bring back 6 Indian citizens deported, including a pregnant woman Sonali Bibi, to be brought back to Bengal within 4 weeks. The Division Bench of Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty and Justice Ritbrato Kumar Mitra dismissed the petition of the Center, demanding the order to postpone the order.
The Supreme Court had earlier directed to hear Sonali’s case on priority. The High Court, dismissing the Deportation Order, ordered the Union Home Ministry to bring them back to India within a month. These six persons are from two families in Birbhum district. The court on Friday received information that the Center is preparing to go to the Supreme Court against this decision. Delhi Police arrested him from Rohini area of ​​Delhi on 26 June. After that, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the Immigration Department pushed them to Bangladesh on the suspicion of lack of documents and the suspicion of Bengali.

He wrote, ‘The Calcutta High Court declared the detention and exile order of FRRO (Delhi) illegal and directed to immediately bring back six people from Birbhum, including a pregnant woman. This decision highlights the cruel and planned harassment campaign against Bengalis by protests. We will hold the culprits accountable in courts, in public debate and voting. People of Bengal will not tolerate politics of racism, insult or boycott. In 2026, people who trade fear and oppression will get a decisive decision from voters. Justice has started. Our resolve to protect the dignity, rights and language of the people of Bengal is firm.
