India on Friday completely rejected the claims of NATO general secretary Mark Root, in which they said that after the tariff imposed by the US, India has questioned Russia’s strategy regarding the Ukraine war. India’s Foreign Ministry has described this claim of route as ‘factually wrong and completely baseless’. The Ministry of External Affairs has clearly stated that there was no such talk of India about the Ukraine war with Russia and advised Mark Root to take precautions about such rhetoric in future.
The official statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘We have taken cognizance of the statement of NATO General Secretary Mark Root, which mentions the alleged conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russia President Vladimir Putin. This statement does not match the facts and is completely false. Prime Minister Modi never talked to Putin like this. There was no such conversation. India criticized Mark Root and said that the head of an important organization like NATO should show more responsibility and accuracy in public statements.

What did Mark Root claim about Ukraine War?
The Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘We hope that the statements of NATO leadership should be given more carefully. It is not acceptable to present the Prime Minister’s meetings incorrectly or such a conversation that has never happened. Roote claimed this in an interview to CNN on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday. Roote had said that US President Donald Trump’s tariff on India is having a big impact on Russia.
He claimed, ‘New Delhi and Moscow are in touch with each other on the phone. Narendra Modi is asking Vladimir Putin to explain his strategy on Ukraine War, because India is suffering from these tariffs. Let us know that US President Donald Trump had imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on India last month on purchasing 25 percent reciperook and Russian oil. The US says that India’s purchasing Russian oil indirectly supports Ukraine War.

India’s priority nation’s interest and economic security
New Delhi described the American tariff as unjust. India has always talked about peace on the Ukraine issue. PM Modi recently talked to Putin over the phone and thanked him for his best wishes on his birthday. In this conversation too, PM Modi supported peace in Ukraine War. On the issue of buying oil from Russia, India once again reiterated that it is its first priority to ensure the energy security of 140 crore Indians. The Ministry of External Affairs said that India will continue to take all necessary measures to protect its national interests and economic security.
