Tension spread due to the incident of religious posters to be torn on Thursday night in Faizullaganj locality of Jahangirabad police station area in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The ‘I Love Mohammad’ poster in the locality was tore over alcohol by a young man named Dhaniram alias Dhanni. On receiving information about the incident, people of the Muslim community became angry and hundreds of people gathered on the streets.
SP reached the spot
Seeing the seriousness of the case, the police administration came into action. Heavy police force and PAC were deployed on the spot. SP Arpit Vijayvargiya himself reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He informed that CCTV footage is being investigated by taking DVR.
A drunkard tore the poster
Based on the footage, 9 people have been detained and they are being questioned. The entire incident has been captured in the camera in the nearby mosque. It is clearly visible in the CCTV footage that the banner is falling from the Dhanni pole and the crowd is gathering on the spot. The police have started investigation by taking this video in possession.
Police conducts flag march
In view of the stressful situation, the police also conducted a flag march in sensitive areas. The administration has appealed to the people to maintain peace and ignore any rumor. Police say that strict action will be taken against the culprits and no one will be allowed to take the law in their hands.
The Inspector of Jahangirabad police station said that the crowd has been immediately controlled and removed and the situation is completely normal. The police has increased patrolling in the area so that the atmosphere remains calm. The quick action of the administration saved the situation from deteriorating.
