In the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), India once again highlighted Pakistan’s double attitude. India’s youth diplomat and Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Petal Gehlot, using Right to Reply, described the speech of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif as a bundle of lies. Gehlot said that the center of Pakistan’s foreign policy is still terrorism and terrorist organizations. He clearly said that Pakistan leaders glorify terrorists and India Pakistan is responsible for attacks on innocent citizens.
Gehlot reminded Osama bin Laden of shelter in Pakistan and called Shahbaz Sharif’s statement on the recent operation vermilion as bizarre and false. He said that Pakistan was threatening India on May 9 and the next day its army was pleading for the ceasefire. India clarified that it reserves the right to self -defense and will respond to any attack.
Direct message to Pakistan in UNGA
Petal Gehlot gave a direct message to Pakistan in UNGA that if he really wants peace, then he will have to close all terrorist organizations operating in his country and hand over to the wanted terrorists of India. This was a strong diplomatic message from India which exposed Pakistan’s terrorism.
Who is Petal Gehlot?
New Delhi -born Petal Gehlot is a graduate in political science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and has done an MA in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. He is an officer of the 2015 batch Indian Foreign Service. She served as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, was third and second secretary at the Indian Embassy in Paris and served as a counsel at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. Apart from being diplomatic, Petal Gehlot is also fond of art and music. He likes to play and sing guitar. She is often lost in music in her spare time.

Petal Gehlot’s speech in UNGA was not only a befitting reply to Pakistan, but also proves how strong India’s diplomatic ability is. His perseverance further strengthened India’s global image and gave a message that India will no longer sit silent in front of terrorism and false allegations.
