What is the rule According to Law 20.1.1.3 of Merilbone Cricket Club (MCC), as soon as the batsman is out, the ball is dead. For this reason, the run out by Sanju Samson did not become valid because the umpire had already raised his finger.
Sanath Jayasuriya demanded improvement in rules
Now Sri Lankan team head coach Sanath Jayasuriya has questioned the rules after the super over controversy. He says that the real reason for this dispute is these rules and they need improvement.
After the match, Jayasuriya said, ‘According to the rules, the first decision is valid. When Shanaka was dismissed, the ball was considered a dead ball. Later, the same was valid on changing the decision in the review. But I believe that the rules should be improved to avoid such situations. ,
