Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the development projects worth more than Rs 60,000 crore in various sectors including Telecom, Railways and Higher Education in Jharsuguda, Odisha. During this time, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the expansion of 8 IITs of the country. Which will make a place for 10,000 new students in the next 4 years. Along with this, PM Modi also inaugurated more than 97,500 4G telecom towers made from BSNL’s indigenous technology. PM Modi also inaugurated a 5 km long flyover in Sambalpur city, which costs Rs 273 crore.
During this, PM Modi said that our government is committed to the poor. Our goal is to reach every poor facilities.
Let us know that this is Prime Minister Modi’s sixth visit in Odisha in the last 15 months, since the BJP has taken power in the state in June 2024. His visit in Jharsuguda has taken place after 7 years. He was last here to inaugurate the second commercial airport of the state on 22 September 2018.
The Prime Minister also flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express from Jharsuguda, which will run between Benrampur and Udana (Surat). This train will ensure affordable and comfortable connectivity among the states, boost tourism, employment opportunities will be created and major economic districts will be added.
PM Modi distributed sure houses and financial assistance orders to 50,000 beneficiaries under Antyodaya Griha Yojana. The objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to the weak population of rural areas such as disabled, widows, people suffering from serious diseases and victims of natural disasters.
