Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given a big update on the bullet train project. On Saturday, the Union Minister said that 50 km of India’s first bullet train project between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat will start in 2027 and the entire section between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be started by 2029. That is, by 2029, the first bullet train will start running in India.
The Railway Minister said that after starting, the distance between the bullet train Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be covered in only two hours and seven minutes. He said that India’s first bullet train project is moving very well. He gave this information during the inspection of Surat Railway Station. Apart from the station work here, he also investigated the work of preparing the track and turnout installation.
The first bullet train will start running in the country by 2029
The Railway Minister said that the first bullet train project is running fast. The first 50 km section of the project between Surat and Bilimora will start by 2027. We are preparing for it. By 2028, the entire Thane-Ahmedabad section will be operational and by 2029 the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad section will be operational. Vaishnav said that the speed capacity of the main line is 320 km per hour and 80 km per hour of the loop line.
Use of new technology
The Railway Minister said that state -of -the -art techniques are being used to ensure safe and efficient movement of trains. He said that this is a very complex movement of trains, so state -of -the -art techniques are being used. Many vibrate system have been installed here, whenever the train runs at a speed of 320 kmph, the utility cable will eliminate the vibrate and the train will run smooth.
Special system installation for tracks
He further said that even within the tracks, many systems have been prepared to control any vibration. Some special facilities have been added to them, so that the train remains completely stable even when strong wind or sudden earthquake. Vaishnav said that the entire heavy work of Surat station has been completed and along with track links, finishing and utility work are also moving fast.
The speed of development will also increase with the commencement of bullet train
He said that today, the first turnout has been set up at Surat station under the bullet train project. The turnout is the place where the tracks are either connected or separated. Many new techniques have been used here, for example, these roller bearings on which the tracks will run. This is also a completely new technology, which we are using.
Vaishnav said that the ambitious bullet train project would unite the economies of all major cities from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and will give momentum to development like Japan, when the first bullet train started. He said that we hope that work on the new project will start soon.
