The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against a main accused in the 2024 case related to the attack of Communist Party of India (Maoist) activists on security forces in Jharkhand. Officials gave this information on Saturday (September 27, 2025).
He said that the name of Abhijeet Koda alias Sunil Koda alias Matla Koda alias Matlu of Jamui district of Bihar is included in the charge sheet filed in the NIA special court in Ranchi, Jharkhand on Friday (September 26, 2025). The NIA said in a statement that an armed activist of the CPI (Maoist) was involved in the criminal conspiracy to carry out the militant activities of the banned militant organization and to promote/strengthen the organization in collaboration with other members.
‘Courier’ for senior Maoist leaders
The NIA said the investigation revealed that he was working as a ‘courier’ and messenger for senior Maoist leaders and also supported his efforts to expand the organization and carry out illegal/criminal activities.
The NIA said that the case is dated February last year, when the Jharkhand Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of 15-20 Naxalites in the Sundari Hill forest area of ​​Chatro-Chhatti in Bokaro district.
Naxalites firing indiscriminately on security forces
According to the information received by the police, the Naxalites were allegedly conspiring to commit crime, recruit youth, charge levy and attack security forces. During the search operation, the Naxalites started firing indiscriminately at the security forces, in response to which security forces also fired. However, Maoist workers fled by taking advantage of the dense forest. The NIA took over the investigation in June 2024.
