The Indian Army’s air defense system will now be stronger. The Army has issued a tender to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to buy ‘infinite weapons’ missile system for about ₹ 30 thousand crores. It has been created by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
Earlier it was called Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (Qrsam). Now it is changed to ‘infinite weapon’. According to the source, 5 to 6 regiments of infinite weapons will be purchased and they will be deployed on the borders of Pakistan-China.
The specialty of infinite weapons is that it can hit the target of the enemy even on the go. Also can fire in a very short time. Its firepower is about 30 kilometers (from the ground to air). It will support the army’s current sky and medium range surface to air missile (MRSAM) missile system.
Successful testing has been done on both day and night of ‘Anant weapons’. The project was cleared after Operation Sindoor in May this year. During that time the Pakistani drone attacks were thwarted by the army’s air defense units with guns and missiles.
Army will get more indigenous weapons
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said that in the coming time, the army will also get new radars, short range air weapons, jammers and laser-based anti-drain systems. The army is increasing more confidence in indigenous weapons.
