Patiala House Court of Delhi on Saturday granted 14 days bail to Gaganpreet Kaur (38), the main accused in the BMW car accident. Gaganpreet will now have to appear in court on 11 October.
The incident took place on 14 September. BMW rider Gaganpreet hit two-wheeler rider finance officer Navjot Singh (52) and his wife on Ring Road near Delhi Cantt Metro Station.
Navjot was killed in the accident, while his wife was seriously injured. Gaganpreet and her husband woman and her husband Parikshit Makd also suffered injuries.
Gaganpreet was arrested on 15 September after the incident. The court sent him to a two -day judicial custody. On September 17, Gaganpreet was extended to custody for 10 days.
In this case, FIR has been registered against Gaganpreet under Section 281 (speeding vehicle) of BNS, 125B (endangered by others’ life or personal security), 105 and 238 (disappearance of evidence).

On the day of the accident, Navjot and Sandeep went to visit Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. From there, he had lunch at Karnataka Bhavan at RK Puram. After this, he was returning to his home in Pratap Nagar. Then the uncontrollable BMW car hit his bike from behind.
Gaganpreet was accused by Navjot’s wife that she had taken both of them to the hospital 19 km away after hitting them. In the police interrogation, Gaganpreet claimed how the accident happened, she does not remember.
When the police asked her why she did not take the injured Navjot and his wife to a nearby hospital, she told that she was nervous and was familiar with GTB Nagar Hospital, as her children were admitted there during Kovid-19. The BMW with which the accident took place is of Gaganpreet’s husband Parikshit Makk.

Parikshit told the police that he does not understand how the accident happened. According to Parikshit, Gaganpreet told her that she was taking the victims to the hospital.
