New Delhi. Wasim Akram has described India as a contender for the Asia Cup title. Akram is afraid to see Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill’s batting. He says that if Pakistan is to win against India, then its opening pair will be sent to the pavilion first only then their middle order can be brought under pressure. He hoped to maintain confidence and rhythm from Salman Aga’s team, who won Bangladesh despite a low score in the super four phases.
Wasim Akram says that India is a favorite in the final.
Gill and Abhishek shared a 105 -run partnership
This former veteran said, “Pakistan team should continue this confidence, this rhythm on Sunday and should play wisely supporting itself.” Akram said that if Pakistan was successful in taking the wicket of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill in the initial overs of the match, then it can put pressure on the middle order of India. Gill and Abhishek shared a 105 -run partnership in a super four matches against Pakistan on 21 September.
‘India will come under pressure from Abhishek and Gill’s wicket’
Wasim Akram said, ‘India can definitely come under pressure by some wickets in the initial overs and especially Abhishek and Gill’s wickets. This should be a close match and I hope that in the end the best team will win. This is the first time in the 41 -year history of the Asia Cup when India and Pakistan teams will face face to face in the final.
