The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday (September 27, 2025), in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a Durga pandal in West Bengal, raised strong objections on Saturday (September 27, 2025) and described it as a deep shadow of ‘radical and appeasement politics’ on Hindu traditions.
BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi recently raised the issue of inaugurating the Dussehra festival in Mysuru on behalf of Booker Award winning writer Banu Mushtaq and questioned it by adding the incident in a pandal in Kolkata and questioned whether all this is part of the efforts of ‘India’ alliance of ‘Elimination’ of Sanatan Dharma.
CM’s purpose to please extremist votes
The BJP had criticized the Congress government of Karnataka for the decision to invite a Muslim woman Mushtaq for the inauguration of a Hindu religious program. Trivedi questioned the critics of the Waqf Act brought by the Modi government whether he considers the singing of the song glorifying any other religion in Durga Pandal as ‘sweet, secular music’, who has objected to the provision of the presence of non-Muslims in the management of Waqf properties.
The BJP leader said that the country should know about the deep conspiracy issued here, about which he alleged that his purpose is to please the extremist vote. He told reporters that it is not wrong to praise any religion, but when this is being done in a Durga pandal in the presence of the Chief Minister of the state, the doubt increases.
An insult to Hinduism and culture
He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also targeted Hindu traditions in the past. He asked Gandhi and Banerjee to clarify his stand on this issue. Trivedi claimed that the ruling Trinamool Congress of the state is working in frustration due to its possible defeat in the next year’s assembly elections and stopped the organizers of a Durga Pandal from underlining Operation Sindoor and refused to give them government grants.
He said that it is clear that the insult made by TMC is not limited to BJP only, but is spread to Hinduism and culture. Trivedi also targeted Gandhi’s foreign trip and said that the opposition leaders have gone abroad again according to their ‘habit’ and the media should be ready for his ‘suspicious people’ and anti -India comments.
Attack on Congress for criticism of PM Modi
Trivedi also retaliated on the Congress for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha, where the Prime Minister started several development projects. He said that the Congress is neither in the government nor is the main opposition party in the state, but it keeps attacking Modi due to its inferiority complex and jealousy.
