Prior to the Asia Cup final, India denied photoshoot and press conference, Salman Ali Agga spoke of protocol, the handshake controversy continues.
New Delhi. On Saturday, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga reacted to India captain’s refusal to a photoshoot before the Asia Cup final. The event was to be held on Saturday but India refused to participate in it. The Indian contingent took a one-day holiday as no one addressed the media before the final, which broke the old tradition of the pre-of-match press conference.
Aga talked to reporters and answered questions on the ongoing controversies. He said, “Every person has the right to express emotions. If we stop a fast bowler from showing emotions, what is left? I will not stop anyone until it is derogatory.”
In the last match, the stimulating gestures of Haris Rauf had raised a lot of debate, but Aga refused to stop her fast bowlers, saying that aggression is part of their work. The noise of the ongoing India-Pakistan Games in the Asia Cup has crossed cricket. Aga said that the incident of handshake should not have happened.
“I started playing under-16 in 2007. I never saw that no team would join hands. Even when Indo-Pak relations were bad, we used to join hands.”
ACC President and Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Mohsin Naqvi will be present in the Asia Cup final and will provide the trophy. His presence may give rise to a dispute between India’s ‘No Handshek’ stance. A tournament internal source told PTI, “So far it is known that he will come this evening… let’s see what BCCI decides.”
