TVK Rally Stampede: ‘Strict action will be taken’, CM MK Stalin said about Karur stampede, said- Retired judges of High Court will investigate the matter


On the stampede incident in Karur, Tamil Nadu, state Chief Minister MK Stalin said that 39 people have died so far. In the history of our state, such a large number of people never lost their lives in a program organized by a political party and such tragedy should never happen in future. Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) leader and actor Vijay organized a rally in Karur, where there was a sudden stampede during the rally.

According to news agency ANI, MK Stalin said that 51 people are currently undergoing treatment in ICU. He said that I pay tribute to those who have lost their lives with a heavy heart. The families of the deceased will be given compensation of Rs 10 lakh and the injured will be given a compensation of one lakh rupees.

Retired judges of High Court will investigate the incident

Regarding the investigation of the case, CM Stalin said that I have ordered the formation of an inquiry commission under the chairmanship of the retired judge of the High Court. The truth will be revealed through the Commission of Inquiry. I do not want to say anything with political purpose. Strict action will be taken after the truth comes out through the Commission of Inquiry.

Stalin himself told, where were you at the time of the incident

CM MK Stalin said that I am standing here with deep grief. I am unable to describe the horrific accident in Karur. Yesterday at around 7:45 pm, when I was talking to the officials in Chennai, I received the news that such an incident happened in Karur. As soon as the information was received, I called former minister Senthil Balaji and asked him to interrogate him and instructed him to go to the hospital. When I heard the news about the number of dead, I instructed the nearby ministers to go to Karur.
