Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov said that we fully respect India’s national interests. We respect the foreign policy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is adopting to promote these national interests. There is regular contact between us on a large scale.
Lavarov said that the conditions that arise between India and America or India and any other country, I do not consider them the criteria of relations between India and Russia. We have a strategic partnership between us, for a long time we call it a strategic partnership. At one time our Indian friends proposed to complement the word and now we call it a privileged strategic partnership.
Russian External Affairs Minister Sergei Lavarov said that recently Prime Minister Modi and President Putin met in Tianjin during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China. And will go to Putin’s visit to India in December. He said that our bilateral agenda is very widespread, including business, military and technical cooperation, finance, human affairs, healthcare, high -tech, artificial intelligence, and of course SCO, BRICS and close coordination on international forums at bilateral levels.
He said that this year, India’s Foreign Minister and my colleague Jaishankar will visit Russia and I will visit India. There is a exchange of ideas from regular Russia between us. Lavarov said that I am not even asking what will happen to our business relations or our oil. I do not ask this question to my Indian colleagues, because they are fully capable of taking these decisions themselves. Publicly, my friend (Jaishankar) had earlier also said on such a question that if America wants to sell our oil, then we are ready to discuss its terms, but what we buy from other countries, whether from Russia or someone else, is our own matter.
