The Enforcement Directorate (ED) may soon attach the assets worth crores of rupees of some players and actors under the money laundering Prevention Act (PMLA) in an online betting and gaming platform case. Official sources told ‘PTI’ that an investigation into the case related to the ‘One X Bet’ portal found that some of these celebrities used the advertising fee given to them to get many assets and they are considered ‘income earned from crime’ under PMLA.
The federal investigative agency will soon issue an provisional attachment order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to attach these movable and immovable properties, including some assets located in countries such as the United Arab Emirates. Quantification and evaluation of these properties is still going on.

He informed that after issuing attachment order, it will be sent to the concerned authority under PMLA for confirmation and on approval, a charge sheet will be filed in the court to seize these properties.
