In the 126th episode of his radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday (September 28, 2025), Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the countrymen to buy Khadi products on October 2 and gave the slogan of ‘proudly say, we indigenous hai’. Senior Congress leader Pawan Bansal appreciated this and said that it is the best thing to promote Khadi.
During a conversation with ‘IANS’ in Chandigarh, he urged the government to take concrete steps to support the Khadi industry. Bansal said that Gandhiji’s feelings were revealed as Khadi during the freedom struggle, when the country was caught in the chains of slavery.
Pawan Bansal spoke about light imports from China on Diwali
Pawan Bansal questioned PM Modi’s appeal to adopt indigenous. He said that on Diwali, the idols of God and light garlands are mostly imported from China, which should be closed. Bansal objected to the praise of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Mann Ki Baat. He said that on August 15, PM Modi took the name of RSS from the Red Fort, which should not have been taken. Bansal said that now it does not make much difference by taking the name again, but it was unfair to take the name that day.
He alleged that RSS has done polarization work in the society. Bansal also claimed that PM Modi had named RSS on August 15 to avoid retirement in the age limit of 75 years, so that the organization could be happy. He said that people were in trouble during the floods in Punjab, but the central government did not provide any assistance.
‘No announcement about Punjab’
He said that 7 thousand crore rupees were announced in Patna, but nothing was thought of for Punjab. Bansal also said that he is not aware of any work done by the people of RSS in Punjab and the people of Punjab were not mentioned in the mind, it has made it very sad.
