The process of tariff attack continuously from America. Talking about India, first Donald Trump doubled the 25% recipes of the country to 50%, then after this, the H1B VISA fee increased the fees and gave a shock to India. At the same time, recently the US President has announced a 100% tariff on pharma imports and this can also affect India’s drug exports badly. Amidst this tariff attack, American Commerce Minister Howard Lutnik gave a big statement that India should change its perspective.
This is necessary for better access to US
American Commerce Minister Howard Lutnik has included India in the list of big countries with which the US wants to resolve the ongoing trade disputes. Meanwhile, he said in an interview to a TV channel that if India wants a better market access to the US, then it will have to change its attitude. According to Lutnik, ‘We have to deal with all countries like Switzerland, Brazil and India, which are countries which should respond properly to America and open their markets for American goods.’ The US minister further said that these countries should stop taking such steps due to which we are away from them and they are going to harm America.
Symptoms will be to sit with President Trump
Howard Lutnik further said that many trade talks are still open, such as a big agreement with Taiwan, which is going to happen very soon. So many countries are still left there. He said that in these, big countries like India and Brazil are very few, but we will solve the issues related to trade talks over time. But these countries (India and Brazil) have to understand that if you want to sell goods to American consumers, then you have to keep pace with the US President.
Trade deal update between India-US
Supporting the double tariff imposed on India by the US, Donald Trump’s minister Lutnik said that the way the US President makes the deal, his first deal is always best and then in the same order, further deals also become better. Let us know that the US had earlier implemented a 25 percent tariff on India, but after this, it had made a total of 50% by applying an extra tariff of 25% for the purchase of Russian oil and weapons. Since then, the India-Rus Trade Deal has not reached the final decision.
However, after positive signs between the two countries, the US negotiators had reached India in the past and talked about all the entangled issues. At the same time, a delegation led by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal visited Washington from 22 to 24 September. In the statement issued about this, it was said by the Commerce Ministry that positive meetings were held on various aspects of the Indo-US deal. It was decided to continue negotiations with the aim of completing mutually beneficial trade agreement.
