In Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, a huge uproar arose over Navratri Rangoli. In the Miliwada area of the city last night, an unknown person made Rangoli and wrote ‘I Love Muhammad’ on it. In the morning, the youth of the Muslim community came out on the streets as soon as this video went viral on social media. After which the performance became violent. The police had to do light lathicharge to control the situation.
Actually, the incident started at around 7 am today. The matter was enraged when some people saw ‘I Love Mohammed’ in Rangoli. After this, people of the Muslim community reached the police station and lodged a complaint.
The police immediately took action and registered an FIR against a person making Rangoli and arrested him. However, the protesters were not satisfied with this and started protesting in Kotla in Tofkhana police station area.
About half an hour later, when the police tried to convince the protesters, the mob started throwing stones. In response, the police had to do light lathicharge. After this, the crowd dispersed and there is peace in the area now.
The Ahilyanagar police have registered an FIR in this case and detained 30 people. Police say that the situation is now under control.
