The politics of stampede during Vijay’s rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu has intensified. Arjuna, general secretary of Election Management Management Management Management of Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), has alleged that the incident was a planned conspiracy of police and ruling DMK leaders. He filed a petition in the Madras High Court, demanding the CBI to investigate the matter, although the court registry refused to accept his petition.
Frequent permission and allegations of electricity disturbances
Arjuna said in the petition that permission for rally at places of the party’s choice was stopped repeatedly and permission was given only at small sites where the crowd was difficult to handle. Electricity connections were cut off during the rally in many places and adequate police forces were also not deployed. He claims that in Karur’s rally, lightning was already blowed up before Vijay’s speech, which ran towards the backup generator and caused a stampede.
Claims of miscreants enter the rally
The TVK leader also said that some anti -social elements entered the rally and threw slippers and stones not only on victory but also at the public. All this was done to spoil the atmosphere and incite the crowd. Arjuna described many points as suspicious. He said that frequent electricity in rallies, giving very limited places on behalf of the government, being prepared by hospitals, post -mortem at midnight and unusual rapid reaching the hospital – all this shows that an attempt was made to spoil the rally at any cost.
CBI demand for investigation
He said that the officials who set up the rally venue are a conflict of interests to investigate the accident. Therefore, only CBI investigation can bring out the truth. Arjuna also appealed to the court that the officials should not be prevented from meeting the TVK chief Vijay and the families of the victims themselves.
